The month is designed to boost your wellbeing by helping you create a daily mindfulness practice, and it's about helping our rangatahi/young people.
The funds raised will help the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand continue the work we do educating and equipping young people with the tools they need to look after their own mental health and wellbeing.
Mindfulness is scientifically proven to reduce the symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as lower blood pressure and improve sleep.
You deserve all that and more. By taking part in Mindfulness Month, you’re putting your relationship with yourself first – ka pai, e te whānau!
For Māori, mindfulness enhances the connection to Te Ao Wairua (the spiritual world) and Te Ao Turoa (the natural world). It was practiced by their tupu (ancestors) and remains an important part of Māori culture.
Mindfulness Month has been designed with a Te Ao Māori lens. The practices are based on Te Whare Tapa Whā, a holistic Māori model of health that reminds us to care for all aspects of our wellbeing.
